    Barter Trade Swap
Looking to trade this Jet Ski for a quad maybe or other toys. Not looking for services. Adult owned. The motor was in installed 2 years ago and I only ride it one week per year at my cottage. Has electric trim that works. The boat will reach pretty close to 60mph. NADA has it valued at 2200. It is sitting on a nice karavan trailer. Let me know what you have and send a pic or two. Thanks

I'll guess that you have some onboard electronics that continue to function even while the ski is off. It could also be to prevent electrolysis and corrosion of electrical fittings. It could also have been the previous owner's poor man's anti theft system. Whatever his reasons were you will probably be just fine if you want to leave the battery in from day to day like most people do. It is a good idea to remove the battery for winter storage though, or for any extended periods of time when the ski won't be used.

    1) unplug all plug wires from spark plugs and remove all spark plugs
    2) install compression gauge in first cylinder
    3) spin engine over with the starter until needle stops gaining pressure (may need a small battery charger connected)
    4) record reading
    5) remove gauge
    6) release pressure on gauge
    7) repeat steps 2-6 on each cylinder
    8) compare your "dry" readings for each cylinder with the manufacturers specs
    9) if you have some low readings, start over but this time add a teaspoon of engine oil into the spark plug hole before you install the compression gauge
    10) repeat on all cylinders, recording the readings as you go

Note: a low "dry" reading could indicate bad rings, cylinder, head gasket or valves……
but if the "wet" reading pressure comes up to near normal… it is usually the rings

You need to have your drivers licenses. It doesn't matter if you're 30 but because it's such a powerful motor vehicle you need to have someone that knows what they're doing behind it. I know in one state (a Dakota) you only have to be 14 to get your licenses. In this case you would be able to operate the jetski.
